Processing Through The Pain
Several of Laurie"s family members have begun expressing their thoughts, pain, and emotions through online weblogs, or "blogs". These journals are not being developed to gather attention or to demonstrate anything other than the simple fact that the pain is real, and there is no easy way to get a grip on what has happened in recent weeks.
Several friends have let us know that by reading these blogs, they have learned how to better pray for us. They have also communicated their support just through simple comments or responses. If this would be helpful to you in you own processing, please feel free to visit any or all of our online blogs:   Barb Kovacevich - Laurie's Mom Barb's blog is written from the unthinkable perspective of a mother who has just lost her youngest child. Barb's thoughts, emotions, and pain are captured in her blog. It is amazing to see how she has processed through this journey. Greg Boncimino - Laurie's Brother Greg's blog is entitled "A Place to Process". In the title header, he writes, "This is my first (and currently only) blog. Primarily, I have set this up to give myself an outlet for processing my "insides". I now begin a journey.... Greg Katie Michel - Laurie's Sister "It's not that I don't know how to do this, it's just that I don't know how to do this." These are the first words that Katie wrote in her opening blog entry. Katie offers a perspective as a very close sibling, an older sister, who had a relationship with Laurie perhaps closer than almost anyone else. Katie writes what is on her mind -- honest, raw, unedited, yet so authentic. Mandy Peszat - Laurie's Cousin Mandy is a sweet cousin, just a bit older than Laurie. Her perspective offers a realness, and a level of emotion that is completely unique -- just like Mandy. Drew Brown - Laurie's Friend And Pseudo-adopted Brother Drew was one of Laurie's best friends. He is also the closest thing to family without actually being family. Drew is processing through his pain much like you would expect from a close friend. Ashley Boncimino - Laurie's Niece Ashley is Laurie's 15-year old niece, and writes from the perspective of a teenage girl going through high school while trying to process through a most difficult time. Laurie had always been one of Ashley's role-model-aunts. Now the tough journey begins... Brooke Boncimino - Laurie's Niece Brooke is Laurie's 13-year old niece. Brooke has been going through this time as a junior high schooler -- an awkward and transitionary period, to say the least. Eve Rickert - Laurie's Small Group Leader Eve offers an eloquent, lyrical expression that overflows from her artistry and sense of life. Eve has been a tremendous support to Barb throughout this season. Read Eve's blog to experience the loss of Laurie through an artistically enhanced lens. |
